What employees see in the app
A tour of the employee app: today's shift and clock-in, My work, Time off and More, in English, Arabic, Urdu, Malayalam or Filipino.
On this page
The employee app is made for a phone. Four tabs sit at the bottom of the screen: Today, My work, Time off and More. The top of each screen shows who the person works for and their name, and a bell opens their messages, with a dot when something is unread.
People only see what is theirs: their own shifts, tasks, leave and requests. A shift appears once its roster is published.
Every employee or contractor with an app account sees these screens. To give someone an account, see Invite employees to the app.
Today
Today shows the day's duty on a card: the times, the place and the company. The large Start shift button clocks the person in. The phone asks once to share its location, only to confirm they are at the right place; it is never tracked between shifts. While the shift runs, the card shows the time worked, and End shift clocks out.
With no duty today, the card shows the next one. Below it are the tasks still to do and the next two duties under Coming up.
When the person is placed to work shifts for another company, the card names both companies, and they tap OK, I understand before the details appear.
Without a connection, the app shows the schedule saved on the last visit, for up to 12 hours. Starting a shift, asking for time off and messages need a connection.
My work
My work has four parts:
- My schedule: the published shifts ahead, day by day, with the place and the hours.
- Extra shifts: open shifts the person can ask for with Take this shift. Their coordinator confirms them.
- My hours: hours worked and overtime for each timesheet period.
- Tasks: tasks and journey steps given to them, with late ones marked Late. Each one opens its own page to hand it in.
Time off
Time off shows the days left and taken for each kind of leave the person has.
- Choose Ask for time off.
- Pick the Kind of leave, the From and To dates, and add a Note (optional).
- Choose Send request.
The coordinator decides, and the request shows under My requests as Pending, Approved, Rejected or Cancelled.
Under When I can work, the person tells the coordinator when they can or cannot work: choose Add a day, pick Available or Not available, One day or Every week, then Save. Once a roster is published for that time, changes go through the coordinator.
More
More shows the person's name, job title and employee number, then:
- Messages: new rosters and shift changes, decisions on leave and extra shifts, new tasks, request replies and payslip notices. Mark all as read clears the dots.
- My tasks: the same list as Tasks in My work.
- Requests and My details. See Requests and my details.
- Language: switch the app's language straight away.
- Change password: type the Current password and the New password, repeat it, then choose Set password.
- Sign out, and links to the Privacy notice and the terms.
If they forget their password, the screen tells them to ask their coordinator for help.
Five languages
The app speaks English, Arabic, Urdu, Malayalam and Filipino. Arabic and Urdu read from right to left. A new account starts in your company's language, and each person can change it under More › Language. The choice stays with their account.
